WanderTap ("we", "our", or "us") is committed to protecting your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, and safeguard your information when you use our mobile application.

Information You Provide
- Account Information: Email address, display name, and profile picture when you create an account
- Trip Data: Trip names, locations, dates, and member information you enter
- Expense Data: Expense descriptions, amounts, categories, and split information
- Payment Information: Records of settlements marked as paid (we do not process actual payments)
Information Collected Automatically
- Device Information: Device type, operating system, and app version
- Usage Data: Features used, screens viewed, and interaction patterns (via Amplitude Analytics)
- Error Reports: Crash logs and error information (via Sentry)
Information We Do NOT Collect
- ❌ Location data (GPS)
- ❌ Contacts or address book
- ❌ Photos or camera data (unless you explicitly upload a receipt)
- ❌ Financial account numbers or payment card details
- ❌ IP addresses (disabled in our analytics)
How We Use Your Information
We use your information to:
- Provide and maintain the WanderTap service
- Calculate expense splits and settlements
- Send notifications about trip activity (with your permission)
- Improve our app through anonymized usage analytics
- Debug issues and improve stability
- Communicate important updates about our service
Data Sharing
We do NOT sell your personal information. We share data only in these circumstances:
With Trip Members
- Other members of your trips can see expense details and settlement information for that trip
- Your display name and profile picture are visible to trip members
With Service Providers
- Supabase: Database hosting and authentication
- Amplitude: Analytics (anonymized usage data only, IP tracking disabled)
- Sentry: Error tracking (crash reports only)
- Expo: App delivery and updates
Legal Requirements
We may disclose information if required by law or to protect our rights and users' safety.
Data Security
We implement industry-standard security measures:
- All data transmitted over HTTPS/TLS encryption
- Passwords are hashed and never stored in plain text
- Database access restricted with Row-Level Security (RLS)
- Regular security audits and updates
Data Retention
- Active Account: Data retained while your account is active
- Deleted Trips: Removed within 30 days
- Account Deletion: All personal data deleted within 30 days upon request
- Analytics Data: Anonymized and retained for up to 12 months

- Correct: Update inaccurate information
- Delete: Request deletion of your account and data
- Export: Download your trip and expense data

Children's Privacy
